Our School Day

Getting to school

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely.

Dropping Off and Picking Up

The school day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.25pm for KS1 and 3.30pm for KS2.  Registration is from 8.55am to 9.05am.

Children can enter the school playground from 8.45 am and will be supervised by members of our school team.

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know.  This avoids any confusion or upset. Mr Robertshaw our Headteacher is always available outside school before and after school should you need to speak to him.

Morning playtime

At 10.30am the children have morning break. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 play on the infant yards whilst KS2 use the main playground and Astro turf. In the Summer months the children play on the school field.

Lunch

The bell rings at 11.55am for lunch. All the children dine together between 12.00pm and 12.30pm. The remainder of lunch time is spent outside unless the weather is unsuitable for outside play.

Afternoon Playtime

Younger children have an afternoon playtime.
